1. Heuristic teaching

Different from the traditional classroom we are familiar with, in the United States, classes are like a large-scale brainstorming discussion. College teachers do not just teach knowledge deliberately, they play a more important role in inspiring students to boldly put forward their own ideas.

When dealing with different topics, they will flexibly use a series of carefully designed links such as group discussion, personal thinking, literature verification, and classroom defense to encourage students to think deeply and provide timely evidence, and ultimately find answers to the problems.

As education continues to move forward, heuristic teaching has gradually developed from being controversial to being increasingly recognized by the education industry in various countries, and the United States is undoubtedly the leader in heuristic education. It is better to teach a man how to fish than to give him a fish. By guiding students step by step and letting them get the answers themselves, they will deepen their grasp and memory of knowledge points.

2. Detailed course plan

All courses have a pre-planned plan. Unlike traditional education, in the United States, detailed planning is usually carried out in the first section of each course, including the website address of the reference book and the detailed scoring method, which avoids the drawbacks of the one-size-fits-all final exam during the traditional education assessment period.

Here, everything proceeds steadily according to the teaching plan, which not only reduces the pressure of final exams but also cultivates the habit of making plans from time to time.

3. Many employment opportunities

Students who choose to study in the United States can choose to return to their home country after completing their studies or study and work in the United States. If you want to stay in the United States after receiving higher education in the United States, it is much easier than receiving education in a foreign country and then working in the United States.

Once students studying in the United States obtain a bachelor's degree from a U.S. university, their job prospects are very good, whether they return to China or stay in the U.S. Now that my country's economy is continuing to develop, many international students choose to return to China to develop employment after completing their studies in the United States.

Such students can also find jobs very easily in China, and they are all high-paying jobs. Of course, these are only part of the reasons. Students who pursue their own development and ability improvement hope to find a development direction that suits them.

1. Preparation before the trip

You can refer to other people's experience for packing your luggage. You can search directly and find lists prepared by prospective international students. You can check several lists, filter and integrate them, and make a list before sorting them, which can improve efficiency.

It mainly includes personal documents, such as passports, visas, etc.; as well as cash and bank cards, which need to be carried with you; daily necessities such as bedding, toiletries, clothes, etc. should be brought as appropriate; you also need to prepare your own computer and mobile phone, as well as plugs for converting current, etc.

In addition, everyone must ensure that they arrive at the airport three hours in advance to handle boarding procedures, exchange for boarding passes, and then check in their luggage. When packing, they should separate carry-on items from checked luggage for easy distinction.

2. On the plane

After boarding the plane, everyone must follow the instructions of the flight attendants, put their luggage away, fasten their seat belts, and adjust their mobile phones. Only after the flight is stable can they do other things. If you have special requirements, you can raise them directly and they can basically be met.

You also need to fill out the entry card on the plane. You need to ask the staff for it, including the I-94 card and the CF-6059 declaration form. Both need to be filled out in English and cannot be altered. If you fill it out incorrectly, you can get a new one.

III. Entry Procedure

After getting off the plane, everyone needs to undergo immigration inspection for overseas people, show their passport, SEVISI-20 or DS-2019 form, I-94 entry card and CF-6059 declaration form filled out on the plane, and answer questions from customs officers.

In addition to checking materials and luggage, everyone's electronic products will also be checked. Before going abroad, everyone should clean up the records of their social software and the memory of their mobile phone to prevent inappropriate remarks and other sensitive information during travel.

Only after all inspections have been passed can you collect your checked luggage. At this time, you can contact the pick-up staff, arrive at the corresponding location to wait, and then set off for school or accommodation.

1. Student dormitory

Student dormitories are mostly for freshmen who have just arrived. There are single rooms, double rooms and quad rooms. In terms of price, single rooms are the most expensive, followed by double rooms and quad rooms. Generally, student dormitories are located near the school, with convenient transportation and living. They are supervised by security personnel and are very safe. It is recommended that students choose student dormitories in their first year, which are affordable and cost-effective.

2. Apartment

Apartment buildings are similar to our domestic apartment buildings, the difference is that American apartments are wooden structures, and the height of the floors will not exceed five (taking California as an example). American apartments are similar to domestic communities, and the community with property management is the model. The comfort level is very high, and the community is equipped with swimming pools, gyms, entertainment halls, etc. The independence is also better than that of student dormitories, usually divided into one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom. The price is slightly more expensive than student dormitories, ranging from US$1,500 to US$3,000. It is suitable for students who have been in the United States for more than two years or have good independence.

3. House-Independent Villa

As the name suggests, a large house is a stand-alone structure with a swimming pool and backyard (some do not). It usually has at least 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a separate living room and kitchen. The price starts at US$3,000, and the bigger the house, the more expensive it is. Generally, students must provide SSN (American Social Security Number) when renting a private house.

Students who usually choose a house share the rent with 4 or 5 people, which is very cost-effective. The average rent per person is about 700 per month. However, houses also have their troubles. You have to worry about the maintenance in the later stage, such as regular maintenance of the lawn, etc. However, the comfort level of a house is really high, which is suitable for a small team to live in.
